So I changed the look of the blog. I'm hoping it helps people to read the posts more easily.
I should also mention that today is All Saint's Day, the day the Church recognizes all those "friends" of God who lived and died in His service. All those in the past and the future, the whole communion of saints thing. It is an "Intrisic Solemnity". That is, a special feast day of the Church celebrating certain persons on a certain day. An "Extrisnic Solemnity" would be about everything surrounding a feast: bells, decoration, number of ministers, etc.
All Hallows Eve--or Halloween--is not the pagan feast most fundamentalist Christians would have you believe. It is in fact, the vigil for All Saint's Day (although being a Catholic holiday is probably just as bad as being pagan to some. I have three words for you: Get over yourselves!) It used to be celebrated on various days, but Pope Gregory III (731-741) declared that it shall be celebrated on November 1. Thanks, Greg!
All Soul's Day is celebrated on November 2. Who are "All Souls"? Why, that's the rest of us. So you've got a holiday tomorrow. Go ahead. Ask for the day off.
