What Have We Learned From History?

Yes, just what have we learned? I know people haven't learned much. Americans don't know much about American history. But it's not just Americans. People in other countries don't seem to have learned their history either, nor have they learned the lessons from classical history. Here's a little segment from an Australian TV show called The Chaser's War on Everything where these fellows perform all sorts of shenannigans. In this little bit, they prove that most people have not learned their lessons from history. In other words, if someone brought a Trojan Horse* to your gated community, would you let it in?

*This story was thought to be mythology as Troy itself was thought mythological. But when the real Troy was discovered some years ago, who is to say that this episode in Greek cleverness did not happen?
