And in bookstores! I traveled to a few today to leave bookmarks and sign stock.
And today, by the way, is Michaelmas, that is, the feast of the Archangel Michael, Gabriel, and Raphael. In the Middle Ages, it was just the feast of Angel Michael. The others were added to this day after 1969. There are many churches dedicated to Saint Michael. There is the famous Mont Saint-Michel, the little spit of land that gets cut off from the mainland with the tide.
It's an 8th century fortified monastery and has served to withstand English attack and all manner of other abuses. Only with the French Revolution did it finally see its demise, even becoming a prison for a time.In 1874, it was declared an historic monument.
And so tis an auspicious day to launch a new medieval book, methinks.

Congrats Jeri!

Great launch on Saturday, Jeri! Loved the knights. Hope you sold barrels of books.
PS: Isn't that Mont St Michel in the pic? I loved visiting there, climbing up the spiral road to the monestary, and then, down on the sand, racing the tide as it hurled its way towards the shore!
