I didn't want to wait till tomorrow to post this. I thought I would see a movie tonight and I hadn't yet seen Julie and Julia, so I found a local place through Moviefone, called Cinema Grill. Thought it was a strange name but, whatever. I show up, the guy takes my money and hands me a menu. Hot damn! It's dawning on me what this is. I walk into the theatre and I have walked into paradise. The movie theatre seats have been pulled out and replaced by comfy swivel chairs around cocktail tables or are scooted up to bar/counters--just like sitting in a balcony and leaning on the rail. I can't tell you how incredibly brilliant an idea this is! Except that I was one of about three people in the theatre (well, it is a Tuesday night). They had great things on the menu, like Kevin Bacon and BBQ Cheese Burger, Raiders of the Lost Artichoke Dip, Breakfast Club Sandwich...you get the idea.
A fellow there told me they had been open for about eight years and it has been feast or famine. The menu was not overpriced and the food was good. And what fun! What a great excuse for a party.
Then to watch Julie and Julia while you're eating--not boeuf bourguignon, but still...
I must talk about the movie, too. I couldn't help but feel some parallels: the bitchiness of the blogger (me), the saintliness of the husband (my husband), the rigomorole to get published, etc. A feel good kind of film with lots of chuckles (and outright laughs watching the Saturday Night Live skit with Dan Ackroyd as the French Chef.) Julia Child always looked like someone that would have been fun to meet, one of those dream dinners if you could invite anyone. I'd definitely want Julia Child and her husband.

Hi Jerri, I enjoyed your
pictures and comments. The
ones of the countryside in
Indiana remind me of Ohio
where I live. It is truly a
beautiful time of the year.
Sorry about not winning the
Shamus. Maybe next year.
