    And right next to the couch is one of those frilly-shaded lamps that went along with maple furniture--those odd side tables that looked like a cobblers bench.

    I grew up in northern Illinois and have made lots of snowmen without a shovel. Not at all necessary with a lot of snow! If you make a big one, though, you do have to have several people to lift the second ball onto the bottom one. And don't forget snowwomen! And snow dogs, horses, etc.
