The forecasters said there would be no rain. They lied. A smattering of rain all day that sent booksellers a'running to cover books and move tables, while a few of us authors got a bit damp. And cold. Kind of different for Arizona this time of year. Old timers said it cut down on crowds but it looked pretty crowded to me.
First thing, we made our way to the Mystery Writers of America booth:
And then on to my first signing at Sisters in Crime Phoenix:
Then it was over to Mostly Books and after that to Clues Unlimited.
That's author Michael Palmer signing along side of me.I never made it to any panels. Too busy.
But then there were other things.
This scary giant inflatable Ronald McDonald, for one.
A giant Curious George walking about.
Give a mouse a cookie, and he becomes this gigantic rat.
This is supposed to be a lemon-shaped lemonade stand, but really...
And then the Arizona members of SoCal Mystery Writers of America got together for dinner. You're great, Arizona! See you tomorrow. Mystery writes rock! I've got three panels tomorrow. Hope you can catch them. They are with some really stellar authors. Here's my schedule:
+Sunday 10 am-11 am Panel “Whodunnit? Plotting the Mystery” with me, John Verdon, and Dana Stabenow, moderated by Andrew Gross at the UA Bookstore. Signing after.
+Sunday 1 pm to 1:40 pm–Signing at Poison Pen Bookstore booth #230-231.

Looks like fun. I always wanted to do this one.
